Dale Fielder
I am an idea man. If nothing else, I can come up with great ideas, names and concepts. I do this to remain creative, for nothing is worse than the boredom that comes from lack of creativity

Hey Gus! That's pretty nice man! Insanely busy. I'm running all the AP and Payroll for a Hospital and and Senior Living Facility with 500+ employees! Hey! A musician's gotta make some money somewhere! Talk soon!

All sound good - I feel like I sorta know what's going on w/ you (thanks Facebook) - looks like you're busy and good!.. many steps up from the KB Home daze...haha. LMK if you might want to replace your other sites - the thing I mocked up just took a few mins and I could help setup for real and host for $300 - probably could consolidate a couple of your existing sites into one.... and selfishly I'd also promote your music to the world. You turned me onto a ton of great Jazz - including yours, dude!
I especially love this background image! haha http://dalefielder.getopenproducer.com/video

Take a look at dale fielder.com & clarion jazz.com sites. "IF" I did this, these would be the 2 sites I'd replace. How would you improve on these? What is the setup cost? The monthly costs? I been w these folks: Interjazz since 2001 and have benefited from foot traffic from their other sites i.e. 15,000 hits per month. How would you ensure top search placement etc. like I am already getting. I like your look & pages better, but they provide other benefits. Can you provide all these other benefits I am getting? Let me know? If not maybe I'll have you just do the design and stay w them. Lots to think about! But good job Gus!

oh man - probably too much for a fb chat, but a couple offhand thoughts before we move the discussion.... 1) i'm building these sites w/ drupal - this provides a pretty good overview of the benefits and the sites that are built w/ it https://www.drupal.com/
Not sure how many current hits translate into sales, tickets, and other $$ -- but that would be our goal.
Another benefit would be, like I might have said, is I'm building something like you use w/ hostbaby... to get there I need to work w/ musicians I like.. build all the features you need ... and promote the shit out of the sites/artists so i can get more. The software is open source (like wordpress) so what we build will also be available for download... not to get too deep in all that... but what it would mean is I'd be developing your site(s) in the open and promoting you that way too. Short answer would be that I could pretty much guarantee you'd have more reach and sales.
And ya, I'm also planning to resurrect the whole PepperAlley site and see if I can work with others to promote/present shows (remember yours at the Mint!).. since I'm in Portlandia, I guess I have another scene to book shows (in addition to LA, Seattle, etc).
Circling back to your site(s). The cost of a label site would generally be more than an artist site (more features), but it looks like your current ones have anything I don't already include. As I plan to include all the features of http://www.dalefielderactivities.com/ , there seems to be enough overlap to eventually consolodate with your dalefielder site.
Another random thought... I do want to work with other dev companies like InterJazz who could frankly use a better toolset to provide good...uhhh... modern.. but affordable sites. I'm not quite ready to do that, but there'd be potential to circle back and not lose all the foot traffic.
Oh man - I don't even know what the hell I'm rambling about in this text..haha.
So I guess, question back to you - if we're talking 2 sites (right?) - does $600 (300/per) to give you better than what you have; will build in all new features as they are developed (at no cost); include hosting for at least a year (then it will be something like 20/mo or lower for the year)... I also might do some sort of referral thing... so possibly additional months free.
Oh shit - I need to stop myself..haha. Send me back any thoughts here... if it's still enticing we'll move the convo... and ya - I can build these sites pretty fast.

check this when you have a moment - I did a quick proof of concept for the clarion site - colors, backgrounds, styles, etc need to be switched up/tweaked... tracks/music/artist pages, other missing content would need to be added (but it should be easy to manage like wordpress, cdbaby or whatever you use). already i think it functions a hella lot better than your existing site... should also look/work well on mobile devices http://clarionjazz.getopenproducer.com
