Sounds and Colors Radio
Sounds and Colors Radio, a platform for you to listen, watch, enjoy, learn and experience the dynamics of America's beautiful art form of Jazz. With a pledge to Sounds and Colors Radio, I wish to bestow upon you the gift of hearing creative jazz music fueled by the passion in which the musicians have intended and to program an experience in sound rather than a series of popular songs. A presentation of the right balance of intrigue and nostalgia!
If you are a lover of Jazz music, you know that everyone you speak with seems to have their own definition of the music. Jazz is ALIVE, well and growing into the most beautiful fragrant flowers you ever want to hear. As a human being, you have the right be presented with the best in quality sound and music programming in a format that has possibilities not ceilings, vision not stagnation, freedom not obligations, respect not assumptions, truth not gimmick; unabashedly bold in revealing past, present and future of and ever changing landscape of music!
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Sounds and Colors Radio will be a 24-hour internet radio station with more than just great jazz music. We plan on having intuitively programmed shows, live shows, spontaneous interviews with all of the artists that are creating this great sound, broadcasting live from remote locations and more! We wish to become your all access pass to places like backstage at your favorite jazz clubs, live concerts, live in-studio sessions to broadcasting shows from the living rooms and on the road with your favorite artists.
Not only do we plan on streaming audio but, video will also be a major component to Sounds and Colors in association with a brand new television music series called "The Jazz Creative". Visualize watching live streaming concerts and interviews from remote personal locations behind the scenes all to bring you the not only the best in jazz music but, the best in jazz media!

Based on the feedback (or quite possibly email notifications are going to spam), it seems like the previous team doesn't have the time/capacity to bring this up to speed? With D8 actually being released, I think the need for such a program has not diminished. That said, I'd like to see if we can find a couple folks who might be willing/able to steer. Per Review fiscal sponsorship status with Visions Unite I'd be interested playing a supporting role.
Would be great if y'all could chime in either way before Thursday, as my D8 release party looks to be a good opportunity to promote and/or recruit.
I appreciate the feedback (and apologies for the delayed reply as I was off the grid for a few days)... I agree that theming and some general UI are areas that need the most work. The hope/plan is when there are a few paying clients I can justify more time making improvements and ideally bringing aboard some specialists to help w/ theming and design.
I'm still trying to break out of the holding pattern of trying to sell something without many good/solid examples. That said, I do have at least one client coming on board, but unfortunately he just got off tour (with Crosby, Stills, and Nash) and is recording in the studio for the next few weeks. A couple others that are interested, but have not yet given the green $$ light. In the meantime, I've started to ramp up the sales/marketing effort beyond musicians I already know.
So I can safely say that I'll have enough client(s) to catch up on invoice(s) in a few weeks at the latest (hope that is ok?). As I'm more in marketing mode, with a couple live sites to show, it could happen much sooner.
That is the unrelated status update. Thank you again for the feedback. Ping me if you want to chat more.
"find volunteers for a committee which will be responsible for the Snowball effort on the same model as the DOLI fiscal sponsorship agreement". This is because "People who give a damn is in the process of rebuilding its board, but even with the capacity to directly oversee community coalescence and crowdfunding for Drupal and other software projects, that is not its main focus, so we would still want the outside committee."
So it's not an agreement with DOLI (since that org is still in flux), but using the fiscal sponsorship agreement which you drafted as a model. That said, I don't know mean if the steering committee is a separate entity or part of PWGD.
Hopefully Ben will be able to chime in and clarify?
After good momentum, it seemed like the Snowball melted a couple years ago...however, this may not actually be true [1].

Question is, what are the steps we can take to get this rolling again? What would the minimum viable product look like for Snowball? Is there a minimum viable 'criteria' for projects that Snowball, and the NPO behind it [2], could support? Could we start with projects, including Snowball, that are already in progress [3]?

If anything, the need for something like this has increased. Lets roll!

I really appreciate the info (and the setup)! First install went without a hitch, so I'm going to manually replicate the relevant content (which probably will be faster than me trying to figure out howto migrate a portion of a site). After it's setup I'll use as both the documentation and marketing/commerce site (at least until the product is ready for end users).
I'll probably have a similar question pertaining to using git for a site (unless I find the documentation), but will mark this as resolved.
Ok - I'm a dumbass. What and where do I clone it to? If there's some documentation you can point me to, I won't need to bother w/ these silly questions. Thanks
That would be great if you add it (if it's tested and something you were going to include in your offering).
As I should learn the proper way to add a platform - Could you tell where I get the makefile if I was going to create a platform for this project?
https://www.drupal.org/project/redhen_raiser
Both of these will be used for raising funds/pre-selling sites to kickstart the platform (and get current w/ my hosting partner!).
Still making revisions, but I think an instance of OA2 will be a good platform for both marketing and community/documentation. I could start by essentially cloning or replicating http://www.drupalkata.org/getopenproducer
That said, I'd like to set up the OA platform on the VPS. Has there been any progress regarding this being available? If not, should it be possible for me to set up?
Ping me in the IRC if it'll be easier to walk me thru in real (chat) time.
