The following projects build on top of OpenProducer and will serve as a foundation for different flavors targeting specific user types:
Drupal
Drupal Dojo - Building a D8 version the site will serve as an opportunity to build/fund elements of what we'd use for D8 OpenProducer. As we'd be building on top of/adding value to Panopoly, we should be able to collaborate with their team.
As our role could be ongoing and venturing into content/event production and promotion, there should be many opportunities to provide hosted sites and custom services.
LeRoy Downs is a jazz broadcaster on numerous Los Angeles radio stations including KJazz 88.1 FM, KPFK 90.7 FM, KCRW 89.9 FM, KXLU 88.9 FM, 1410 AM KRML in Carmel and KRML 94.7 FM in the Monterey area. He has been the host of the Monterey Jazz Festival for nearly 15 years as well as The Jazz Cruise, The Playboy Jazz Cruise, KPFK’s Hero Awards Tribute to Billy Higgins, The Angel City Jazz Festival, Terranea Resorts Jazz Through the Generations, The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz West Coast competitions, Producer of The World Stage 25th Anniversary Concert, Curator for Jazz for the Holidays series with Arts Brooksfield, Jazz Curator of the Steven James Buchanan Jazz Collection at the Mayme Clayton Jazz Library and Museum, producer of the made for television pilot “Hangin’ with the Jazzcats” and owner and journalist for the website TheJazzcat.net.
Status - We've committed to take on this project. Until there's a budget (possibly 12/15) to migrate to OpenProducer, we'll be cleaning up and organizing his wordpress site.
Sounds and Colors Radio - Sounds and Colors Radio will be a 24-hour internet radio station with more than just great jazz music. We plan on having intuitively programmed shows, live shows, spontaneous interviews with all of the artists that are creating this great sound, broadcasting live from remote locations and more! We wish to become your all access pass to places like backstage at your favorite jazz clubs, live concerts, live in-studio sessions to broadcasting shows from the living rooms and on the road with your favorite artists.
Status - We've already set the project up on DrupalKata and will be revising a previously drafted fundraising campaign to secure enough funds to begin the project. Ideally we'll secure enough funds to begin the process this month.

I've added my generalist roles to the list. My ideal would be to have enough stakeholder funded projects or products (could include OpenProducer, Kendra, or associated projects) in the queue to justify 10-15 hours/wk at whatever we determine to be the market 'community' rate.
Is there enough combined product development work to sustain a team?
After discussing this further, it makes good sense for OpenProducer to be under the Kendra umbrella. While we're sorting out the crowdfunding feature we could use Paypal or something similar that provides embedabble widgets. Possibly there's already a Paypal account already set up for Kendra that we could use?
I recently came across Audience Engine, an open-source, customizable suite of fundraising tools. While their initial targets are content creators such as radio, tv, news, etc., their fundraising and donor management tools will be available as a stand-alone release and will provide the following functionality:

So integrating these tools into a Drupal module could be a viable option. Would anyone be interested in taking the lead on developing this feature? There already seems to be a good amount of interest to sponsor development from both the Drupal community and the folks at Audience Engine.
Our goal is to have a team that would lead and coordinate ongoing development & maintenance of OpenProducer and all associated projects and integrations.
